The Band has been in existence since 1922, and has served the Commonwealth and the nation with distinction. The unit history spans from action in World War II to present-day musical support roles in Bosnia in February 2002 and Normandy, France in June 2004. We are currently based in Petersburg, Virginia. The picture above is the unit on top of Mt. Scott during our 2007 Annual Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

Served in 29th Army Band in Okinawa 1953 and 1954 Sax and company clerk
I served in the 29th Army Band on Okinawa - 1962-1963. Anyone else there at that time?
I also served with the 29th Army Band in Sukiran, Okinawa. I was there in 1972.
I served in the 29th Aermy Band on Okinawa from 1970 to 1973. Any one else?
The 29th ID Band as of 15 Aug 2011 has been relocated to Clifton Forge, VA.
Is there a Drum and Bugle Corps or a Marching band?
Our unit is now located in Petersburg, VA.
Your website has two locations for the band, Petersburg and Roenoke, which is correct?
